The University of Szczecin is the largest heigher education institution in the West Pomeranian region and one that is dynamically developing, with presently more than 20 thousand students enrolled at its thirteen faculties. Our students can choose to study within 61 different fields.
Currently, the university has cooperation agreeements with 267 foreign heigher education institutions and the number of its partners within Erasmus program last academic year was 151. It employs over fifty foreign researchers and academic teachers.
The university and the city are geographically and culturally close to Germany (ca. 150 km from Berlin) and within 100 km from the Baltic Sea.
Szczecin, due to its unique urban layout - with the characteristic radiating streets, happens to be described as Paris of the north. The vastness of green areas, the plentitude of parks and squares, add remarkably to the value of the city.
Prof.Harff - a geologist from University of Szczecin has been awarded with "International Scientific and Technological Cooperation Award of the People's Republic of China". It's the highest award taht a foreign scientist can obtain in China in the field of scientific international cooperation.
